Joel is right. I've seen that too. There is less and less information out there with practical experience for 32bit stuff (as is Williams issue). For example, notice that the Validated Configurations list has no 32bit reference architectures:

I have seen it where it was necessary to downgrade some of the libraries to what oracle wants.
