I cannot speak for the list, but I believe that 10g does have statistics on SYS tables. Let others verify that - cause I don't wish to double check now

I haven't experienced 10g yet, but the advice I recall on this list was not to have statistics on SYS tables.

Can anyone else on the list clarify that?
