Folks

What could be the approach to Convert a Large 3 TB NON-RAC Production Database with Datafiles existing on cooked/Mounted Filesystem (UFS) to a 3 instance RAC using "ASM"?

NOTE - Production Database is Near 24*7 with Minimal Downtime.

Can the Datafiles be copied using "dd" Command from the Mounted FS to the RAW Device Space of ASM?

Need the basic approach Steps for conversion.

Any Docs, pointers, Links will help. (Did search Oracle Documentation, but could NOT find a practical Hands-On Note)

Config:-

Solaris 10

Oracle 10gR2

3 instance RAC

Thanks indeed
