Hello -

I currently use XE for some of applications and have not had any problems; it is a great starter platform to see if the application is going to go somewhere or the application is stand alone. I like to use it because it allows me to use Oracle to Oracle connections on my interfaces, and when the application becomes large enough to go to the main server, or has become an enterprise solution instead of a work group, there is no change to the source code. The only downfall that I know of or encountered was the sizing limitations.

Thanks,

Bryan

Subject: Oracle XE in production?

hello everyone,

does any one of you use Oracle Xe in production environment. We are developing a small forms based application which needs to be standalone on laptops and the database needs to be on the laptop. I installed Xe and could connect forms 10g and Reports 10g to Xe and every thing seems to be working, but I am not really sure whether how stable XE is for a production use.

We are going to go through testing but want know if there is any feed back.

Any information is appreciated.

Thanks

Deen
