Er ... Oracle stole it from MVS. So IBM would get the last laugh. And SQL Server's had a primitive wait interface since v7 - it's only good for the current wait state, but it's there (waittype, waittime, lastwaittype and waitresource from sysprocesses).

Everything old is new again :-)
