Hi all,

At last, SQL Server incorporates "Wait events" in SQL Server 2005. The article was written by someone in MS who works as an Oracle Performance Engineer on MS platforms. He makes reference to YAPP and credits the Oracle community for taking this up. (Anjo - you should have patented YAPP...) The link is at:

Some +/-: Wait stats (as seen) is not yet available at a session level, but ties in very well to the OS stats. Documentation is sparse and general awareness is still not very prevalent, so there is still hope for someone who wants to write a "SQL Server Wait Interface Tuning" book! (Kirti/Gopal - wanna go over to the dark side??)
