Hello all,

The list server does not appear to be sending out rejection notes for posts that are rejected as too big. I have therefore added the following text to the list's web page to make the limits explicit and to suggest appropriate action when you hit them.

"Limits:

Replies longer than 20 body lines are rejected if more than 80% of the body lines are quoted from previous messages. When sending short replies to long messages, you may need to trim out irrelevant portions of the original message. If you hit this limit, you will get a rejection note back from the list server.

Posts with bodies greater than 20480 bytes are rejected. This is normally due to verbose formatting of the HTML part of posts that contain text that has been cut and pasted. The blowout can be as much as 50:1 depending on your email application. If you hit this limit, your post will be rejected silently! Wait for two hours, and if your post is still not visible in the archives, then you may resend the message in plain text format only."
