Dave,

Okay if I'm understanding you correctly, you made two changes at once:

  1. Upgraded from 9i to 10g.
  2. Switched from RBO to CBO. Have I understood you correctly? It may be difficult to separate what is caused by each change. There have been some good papers describing the steps to take in the RBO -> CBO migration. Yesterday someone posted a link to the Oracle White Paper Migrating to the Cost-Based Optimizer. Did you see that (maybe they posted it in response to your question).
