I'm just curious exactly what you mean by:

".whereas Cloning can not be done to restore upto the latest Sequence number."

Subject: RMAN Duplicate Vs. Cloning

Hello friends,

I have used RMAN DUPLICATE command to restore a single instance database to RAC instance database or Single instance database in another server.

Is there any disadvantage of RMAN Duplicate as compared to Database CLONING ????

I found RMAN Duplicate very easy and can restore upto the latest Sequence number/SCN as of the Source database, whereas Cloning can not be done to restore upto the latest Sequence number.

Looking forward to your comments,

Thanks,
Anurag
