Alternatively, you can copy over one shell script and, providing you have jar and wget installed, this script can pull everything over http from OMS node.

Where is this requirement stated?

I was installing Agent as another user just fine - the only problem was during one metric evaluation (don't remember which... database health check or something like that). There are good reasons for some environments to run CRS, database instances and Agents each as separate users.
