Guys

During upgrade, is there any query that can be used to find the existing version of ORACLE while the database is opened with the new ORACLE.binaries for upgrade.

For example upgrading from 8174 to 10G the query should give 8174 while the database is opened with 10G - obvioulsly before the upgrade(catpatch) is run.
