Hi List,

I'm just trying to get a feel for how much effort I should be planning on to support an Oracle 10g Apps Server running only the Forms & Reports services. I have years of DBA experience, but absolutely none with Apps Server - however that's all about to change, thanks to a new version of an Oracle Forms app called Khameleon that one of my customers is planning to upgrade to soon. The new version runs on Oracle Apps Server instead of the old 6i Forms. From my quick scan of the documentation so far, it looks like supporting AS is going to require a significantly larger amount of effort, but I thought I'd try to get a feel from some of you who may have experience with it. I'm guessing 8 hours or so to get it installed and configured initially, and I'm hoping my involvement can be minimal after that - maybe an hour a week or so. I know the answer is a big fat "IT DEPENDS", but I'm just looking for some rule-of-thumb or anecdotal type information if anyone would like to share their experiences. Is it a "set it and forget it" kinda thing, like the RonCo Food Dehydrator, or does it require constant care and feeding?

Thanks,
Brandon
