Maybe the company its called 'us' (not that case sensitive company names are standard practice...), in which case it would be correct... think "A large client of 'WalMart'" for example.

Um, no, Niall, not a common construct that I'm familiar with. I suspect that should have been "a large client of ours", which makes a bit more sense, but still could be improved upon.
