This is exactly what I'm trying to do and I need to clarify and confirm a few things before revisit these objects which have been assigned to the KEEP pool by previous DBA.

Which is why, if you're going to use the KEEP pool, that you monitor the size of what you're expecting to keep in that, and check back periodically in case your KEEP tables have grown.
