Hello

I have implemented hugepages in RedHat 4 Update 2:

HugePages_Total: 5000
HugePages_Free: 504
Hugepagesize: 2048 kB

What I found (I'm running 10.2.0.2 RAC x86-64) was that starting the instance outwith srvctl did not allocate the memory from hugepages. Starting with srvctl does.

One advantage of hugepages (in addition to the x1000 less tlb lookups) is that they can't be swapped out.

hope that helps,

jason.
