RE: pl/sql to be desupported in favour of java?

I happened to attend the NY Oracle User Group meeting yesterday. Tom Kyte spoke, and his topic was PL/SQL New Features in Oracle11g. No way is PL/SQL disappearing. In fact, Tom said that Java in the database was the best thing that ever happened to PL/SQL, since it lit a fire under a somewhat complacent PL/SQL language development teah, who have been improving the language greatly ever since.

Someone at work had it down in writing! I couldn't believe it. I have since asked them for proof and not heard back. Thought I'd check to see if I had missed one of the biggest news in the oracle history.

Where did you hear that? I think not! Certainly not in 11g! I don't see it happening in the foreseeable future.

Hello again, everyone,

Someone has just brought this up to my attention and I thought "What? Why haven't I heard of this?" Has anyone heard of this rumor? What version of Oracle are we talking about? 11g?
