Hi Bjorn,
I went to the Oracle Day, Oracle did I think to kill SQL Server, they explained for example they can pay 25% each year to avoid paying a new license, but because there were 5 years, customer paying that license loose 25%.

Very briefly, 2005 is not really an upgrade customers expected after 5 years, and there is no point to compare, There is no reason to use SQL Server 2005, if you know and understand all the benefits there are in Oracle.
Now if you only use Oracle to create table an indexes, you can think is similar, but it isn't specially when you understand the lock technology principally.
