if you run backup archivelog all... delete input;
rman won't delete the archive logs that haven't been applied to the
standby. you should receive the following error:
RMAN-08137: WARNING: archive log not deleted as it is still needed
What Oracle version is the first to support it? As far as I know 9i does not handle this.
btw: my solution always was to query v$-views in order to find the last transmitted log SEQ and provide "until sequence" for the rman.
