That is a good read. Yeah is strange;

"Expect Red Hat to...try to out-innovate ...in ways that are not easily copied."

Regardless of RH view of patents has this guy considered that they (RH) are a **support** company, period (when it comes to a pure Linux distro).

The way they "innovate" is to provide the best support at the best price, while achieving (trying to) the best "good will" and partnerships of any Linux distro.

RH has done the best job of that so far...SuSE was not far behind.

Oracle is now trying to beat them at the support game...this all has very little to do with innovations...now or long ago.

The question is not "will RH innovate", but will the industry take Oracle seriously as a Linux Support Provider?...I think not?
