Hi

I had a talk with someone a few days ago, he was asking what do I think of MySql. I said nothing good or nothing bad because I dont know how it works deeply and I have rarely work ed with it. I asked him if he has seen any enterprise system running on MySql. He told me that his website running on MySql was serving 1500 concurrent active users (i.e running 1500 queries at same time), I thought he must be one of those confused about what concurrent means and really he means 1500 connected users, for me concurrent means all together at same time (or I am the confused one?). I said, well sounds very good and impressive but what hardware do you have? He replies, 2 Servers with Dual Cpu each.

My question is lets forget about what RDBMS is being used, how on earth a Dual Cpu server can serve 750 concurrent request at same time with a respectable response time?

Cheers
