ran across this today in a new 10.2 environment that rman backups need to be setup on. Our shop backs up all production systems to an nfs mount point and then the sysadmins back this up to tape. Per metalink note 338086.1 Note that as of 10.2 Oracle attempts to check that the filesystem has been mounted with the 'correct' options - though the note doesn't do a great job of noting what the correct options are - it details the common options required (hard,rsize=32768,wsize=32768, noac in a RAC env) but then suggests that there are other checks as well. Might be worth reading /adding to the checklist for anyone upgrading to or introducing 10.2
