Sanjay,

It simply is a matter of putting both servers in one EMC Storage Group. You will need to create a storage group with both servers and the LUN's hat must be shared.

If you are using switches, you must make sure they are zoned properly too.

Here is a link to a Dell area that specifically covers the requirements for Oracle RAC on EMC.

Thanks,

Subject: Shared Disk Oracle RAC

Hi

I am working on Installing Oracle Clusterware software so that we can replace the Veritas Clusters which is used for three applications. In the current setup of Veritas Clusters, One of the Server is ACTIVE and so all Disk are mounted on Active server. So if it failed to Offline server, all Veritas Resource like Disk as well Oracle instance are mounted and started on second server and it become active. Anyway this is the existing approach.

Now I had to install Oracle clusterware which need shared storage to create OCR/Voting files and our Sysadmin has provided a QA environment where two Linuz server are present and they are attached the HBA to the Shared EMC storage. Storage is avaialble only on one server and one sysadmin says that it is not possible to provide the shared storage on both server so that both can write to each other. One of them says that it is possible but this is some EMC configuration and so it has to go to EMC support. I am not sysadmin and so can somebody give me some idea so that I can check with them. Sysadmin says that if we stop the one of the server, then the space will be automatically visible on other server but not the same time. Is there way I can tell them to check some information in the configuration.

TIA Sanjay
