there are so many reason as of why an agent can't connect.

-you ensure there is only one agent running
-after configurating the agent, you performed the emctl agent
stop/clearstate/start/upload using the version of emctl in agent10g/bin and not another.
-it is the right passwd
-you are not caught in a stupid TZ probleme between agent and master for
the msg wrong passwd is just the symptom of an agent that refuses to connect and yield a wrong message.
-you have exhausted all logs in 'agent10g/sysman/log'
-you cursed Oracle grid control enough time

Subject: Oracle 10 Agent Discovering 9i databases

All,

I am finally trying to get 10g Grid up and running. I am trying to get our 10g agents (10.1.0.2.0) to discover and connect to our 9i databases (9.2.0.7). I have successfully connected to our 10.2 databases. I found the targets.xml file in the 10g agent home that looks like it replaces the snmp_rw.ora file that the 9i agent used. But I am getting a connect error (invalid usercode/password) when the 10g agent tries to connect.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Tom
