Normally its "sid_g_m.rdo" for redo (g = group, m = member [123, or abc etc]) but sometimes the 'rdo' extension is either 'log' or 'dbf' for some reson (inherited systems). For archives it is "sid_nnnn.arc".

I don't normally create databases here though, there's a team to set up the new stuff - we have input though.
