These are two node RAC clusters under reasonable load for a couple of months (using Swingbench), and sharing the same hardware / ASM. To be as automatic as possible, I've got sga_max_size and sga_target set to 500M, which suggests that the ASM extent pointer array

is bigger than my SGA!
                    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

...can't be bigger than your SGA since it is a component of the shared pool. You
must mean larger than your buffer pool..and bingo, now the lights are comping on :-)
