Hi all,

Questions here seems to be more general than technical in nature. I would like to know, the difference between database cloning & refreshing.

My point is, Database refresh involves only the database recreation, in particular the control file creation after copying the data files from the available backup of source database, then RESETLOGS & adding temp files will complete the process.

Then how is cloning different from the above process. Mostly i have seen these two terms used in the same sense. But, i feel that there is some difference in these two.

Please let me know the comments of every one in this regard.

Thanks,
Ravi.M
