dbwr_io_slaves usage on sigle cpu microsoft windows

Hi please
Is advisable to set dbwr_io_slaves to a value higher than 0 in a single cpu (normal pc having one hard disk) on microsoft windows 2000 xp or 2003, 10gr2.
Some experience on using it,
I had read it's advisable, if it is supported by the platform but I'll like if some one could please share his expeience about it.
