Well, for that extreme example, I may end up just re-instantiating that table anyway because I know from previous experience that re-instantiating that table takes four hours. For smaller tables, I will likely use the workaround. At the moment, DBMS_LOGSTDBY.INSTANTIATE_TABLE is broken in our Production logical standby (as is DataPump) so I will have to use exp/imp. That's another one of the three SRs I currently have open with Oracle Support regarding Logical Standby.

I hope this never-ending thread isn't too irritating. I'm trying to provide useful information.
