A few shortcomings/problems I've had in my few months on 10g (10.2.0.2 on AIX 5.3):

  1. There is no Outline Manager in 10g
  2. There is no way to get a listing of current sessions in the 10g EM/DBconsole unless you have licensed the Diagnostics Pack - otherwise you must use the scaled down version of the java EM console that is included with 10g
  3. DB console frequently quits responding and server side processes have to be restarted multiple times to get it to start working again - I have yet to find a real solution for this, and currently have an SR open with Oracle, but so far my best workaround is to kill all the old processes (java, java.bin, emwd & emagent), then restart, but a lot of the time this doesn't work either and only after repeating several times, sometimes for days, does it magically start working again. Yes, I've also checked for port conflicts (netstat -an|grep 1158) and haven't seen any.

You might also find metalink note 277066.1 interesting ("Overview Comparison of EM 9i to EM 10g Features").

Regards,
Brandon
