It is definitely beneficial to release the Caps Lock key. You've gotta ask yourself one question: what do you want that MV for? Can you tolerate data being refreshed at discreet intervals or do you really need them in real time? As one great DBA has put it, you can't always get what you want but you can try sometimes.
