harware suggestions

Hi List,

even though I'm still far away from beeing something like an Oracle DBA I face the request to process some (for me) hughe data.

I'll have to import / work with tables, small ones with 5.000 records, two medium with 2.5 M records and larger ones, 15 to 20 M redords. The larger ones there's one per month (new).

Could someone please advise what hardware is needed to process this scenario in a usefull way.

Calculations need to be done on the large tables (pricing), data access will be via a java tool.
