Oracle has repeatidily written that the 'Streams' will be the way to go for replications in the futur. However I don't know if this comprise the materialized views. They want to get rid of the snapshot logs and rely on log miner to handle the mutations to transfer. However I stll see matierialized views expanding from version to version, togother with the 'rules', 'streams' and 'scheduler' whose combined functions provide the same functionalities.
