The backup script contained the command:

alter database backup controlfile to '<destination_path/file>'

I tried to copy the controlfile from the <destination_path/file> to the original location, but still the database cannot mount (ORA-00205).

Is document id 94114.1 correct or some more steps needed to be performed?
