Could be, but I don't know how we'd be able to verify that unless there is something in the NAS or OS logs. The Unix admins told me they didn't see any errors on the NAS, but maybe I'll ask them to double check.

Could there be some buffering of the writes involved here? i.e. The OS writes to an FS cache and gives the all clear to lgwr but the write never makes it to disk?
