Steve,

I believe that it would be easier for you to reinstall Oracle software at the same time as you change hostname in that case (RAC 10g R1). Personally I haven't any experience with changing a hostname in a RAC 10G environment , but I think it would be easest way to accomplish it. Oracle RDBMS (re)installation is not a big deal.
