Interesting -- what's included in the 4GB limit? UNDO? TEMP? SYSTEM? Indexes? Extra storage/schema requred to use Text indexes? All of the above?

	At least one Oracle version/edition, XE does the inforcement
(played around with it last couple days).
	XE will use only one processor (no matter how many you've got on
the machine), and it will enforce the size of the database.
