Salary range: 75-85K

The ORACLE Database Administrator is responsible for the review, evaluation, design, implementation, and production support of highly complex databases.

Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the Information Technology and Database Administration fields. Relies on expertise, and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks and works under general supervision. An extensive degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Provides leadership in enterprise database design and implementation projects including testing and maintaining relational databases. Writes code for database access, modifications and instructions together with writing technical documentation and procedures. Supports enterprise database design and implementation projects including application integration, security and availability. Provides technical guidance and project management for proposed domestic and international projects including application tuning and planning and installing database upgrades and patches in test and production environments. Works closely with other Database, Systems and Application Administrators in implemeting and/or providing technology solutions. Provides 2nd and 3rd level end user technical support. Provides 2nd and 3rd level technical application database support. Keeps abreast of current technical developments in database related technology topics.
Drives problem escalation and provides necessary feedback and follow-up to customers within agreed Service Level Agreements. Follows company policy with regard to internal controls as well as complies with SPX policies to ensure that the employee and the company act legally and with the highest standards of ethics and integrity.

Must have strong ORACLE DBA skills
Strong working knowledge of database applications including building, supporting and maintaining ORACLE and SQL Server systems. Experience with ORACLE database versions 7 9i, SQL7/SQL Server 2000 technology along with exposure to ERP Systems such as Baan and web-based solutions.
Exhibits competence in performing administrative database activities without utilizing GUI tools and utilizes SQL (PL/SQL) tuning and automated scripts for regular maintenance activities.
