  1. Yes, heard about this rumor a long time ago.
  2. Who knows?
  3. Yes. There is a sourceforge(?) project called extproc-perl which allows callout to Perl from a stored procedure. he mechanism is the same as described in the article.

The issue I have with this, is that it only works under Windows. If they ever port this functionality to Mono, then, maybe it will be of greater value.
