Yes, you would recover to the point in time that you select, past the time you took the hot backup. The archive logs from that time must be available. Once the database was taken out of archivelogmode, you cannot recover past that point because no archive logs were generated to continue the recovery.

Note that once a database is taken out of and put into archivelogmode, you must take a full backup before you can recover the database.
