I use NetBackup. There are definite performance issues over the network and we have a really low end drive. I am in the process of switching to backups to disk and letting mmnp backup the files created by RMAN. My initial testing is this is much faster than going straight to tape.

We are planning a switch from Windows to Linux for our systems. As a result, we can no longer use Veritas Backupexec and must now switch to RMAN. Since we are NOT going to connect a tape drive to each server, what our my options for using a media manager. Veritas has a product called Netbackup that works with RMAN. Database is Oracle 9i. Are there other alternatives?
