Had similar issue today with as10.1.2; this may be the same problem (or not!). My solution was as recommended by the docs if 10g DB was installed (it wasn't).  

setup.exe -J-Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true  

If not, could be the Pentium bug mentioned in the other thread.

hi guys,  

I have installed oracle 9i on windows many times but this time its giving a lot of problems. when i am trying to run setup.exe from the location(irrespective of cd or s/w copied on hard disk), its not starting. the system configuration is Win2k prof with service pack 4,256 MB RAM.  

NOTE: its a desktop pc and not the server  

Any suggestion?????????????????
