Oracle 9205 RAC
RHEL3ES We have; 2.4.21-4.ELsmp and want/need to upgrade to 2.4.21-15; "15". OK Metalink says;

     Requirements for Installing Oracle 9iR2 on RHEL3
     ...
     * Linux kernel version would be 2.4.21-4.EL
But no mention of "maximum" (minimum is implied).

I have looked in my own notes/docs, more on Metalink and further on OTN, but nothing on "maximum kernel for Oracle 9iR2". (I do not have the original installation guide...looking for it now).

Also I run OCFS and appears under the current OCFS version we max out on/for kernel "2.4.21-15"...so we will not go higher (right now).

Finally, what makes the "Hugmem kernel" different than "SMP kernel" and should I care? Only ever run "Uniprocessor" and "SMP" kernels.

Thanks,

Chris Marquez

PS
<OTN COMPLAINT>

Anyone notice how OTN is full off 10g help/docs but seems to have left all 9i DBA's in the cold! Would be nice to be able to reference without upgrading.
