Hola Folks,

I'm just begining my first forays into treedumps. I came across Richard Foote's excellent presentation (http://www.actoug.org.au/Downloads/oracle_index_internals.pdf) . Heavy read for me at least.

Anyway, question is how does one interpret then nrows and rrows values?
branch: 0x784d417 126145559 (0: nrow: 4, level: 2)  branch: 0x7c57042 130379842 (-1: nrow: 705, level: 1)

    leaf: 0x784d433 126145587 (-1: nrow: 297 rrow: 297)

    leaf: 0x784d72b 126146347 (0: nrow: 300 rrow: 300)     leaf: 0x784d741 126146369 (1: nrow: 300 rrow: 300)

For the leaf values, what does nrow and rrow mean; num of possible index entries vs. number of actual entries?

Can't find any mention of it elsewhere, although I have to admit, I have not been able to fully digest the entire article.
