Initially ( on startup ) Oracle allocates all memory ( SGA_TARGET - all other components ) to buffer cache. If there is a need for bigger shared pool it will take memory from buffer cache. Don't know if anything gets invalidated or dirtied when shrink happens. Regards, Ranko. It appears to be working.
Initially ( on startup ) Oracle allocates all memory ( SGA_T= ARGET - all other components ) to buffer cache.
