I recommend the Hotsos Database Symposium, which is in March. I haven't been to Open World in years.

I've never been to OOW and am skeptical of its value for me.

>From those that have gone, do you feel it is valuable in terms of
learning new, useful information, skills, etc. or is it mainly just a sales and exhibition type event, and an excuse to party in San Fran for a week? (not that that's a bad thing ;-)

I haven't been on the list that often lately (stupid
busy business stuff), but I am going to OOW and would like to meet up with the group whenever. Fortunately and unfortunately, Oracle's attempts to pack everyone into the moscone in one big superconference has made it difficult for even multi-year exhibitors to get decent booth space, so I will be going as a civilian. Did we ever sort out a plan for this?
		Thanks,
		Matt

How about establishing a meeting point somewhere at the Moscone?

Is there any plans to have an Oracle-L get together?
