Yeah, but it’s now getting to the stage that the problem is not getting the software, but getting hardware old enough to run it on.  I remember Mogens Norgaard trying to do something similar – may even have been for Oracle 4 – and the problem was finding a 486 to run it on.  I think he eventually found one in the basement of a computer store somewhere.  J

I learned the hard way.  The most valuable Oracle software is the old oracle software.
After trashing Oracle7...and then needing it badly, I now keep every version I get for Windows and Linux...and I have gone to that well several times for work....only thing is the olderit get the harder it is to find and run the old OS.

Here is a good one.
A DBA I know from an old list has a copy of Oracle 804 (I believe) for Linux...
...only printed on the CD it says;
    "Oracle 804 for Linus"
as in Linus Torvalds

One would have to ask why?

I have copies of 5.1.22 for DOS and 6.0.33 for DOS IIRC.  I hunted them out just to keep a copy for posterity.  Never tried using the copies I have though.

Is there somewhere on the internet a place where it is still possible to
download Oracle version 6 or a lower version?

Regards
