Peter,

I heard from 9.2.0.6 on open_cursors was being replaced by session_cached_cursors. Tom Kyte told me cost of SCC was pretty cheap.

Steve Adams has some scripts at ixora.au.com to tell you how much you are using.

Subject: Cost of open_cursors parameter

What is the cost of increasing the open_cursors parameter? I assume that, since the value applies to each session, there must be an increase in the size of some in-memory data structure for the background process associated with each session.

Thanks,
Peter Schauss
