Do you have growth metrics for the legacy system?

If so, load the legacy data into the new system.

Compare the amount of storage needed to house this data in the legacy system to the amount needed in the new system.

Take the rate of growth from the legacy system and apply to the new system.

That's about the best shot you have at it.
