Yes, it is related to the activity.

We opened a case with both SUN & Veritas.

Veritas came back and asked us to run truss with the -d option for timings, which we had done in the first place.

SA says we're on latest patch set
SunOS dgpd1a 5.8 Generic_117350-16 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire

If this is on the same system as your 10046 trace question, I'd think they'd be related. Perhaps an SA can see if you're having Veritas or hardware issues...
