Only 1,000 tables? No problem for exp/imp. We refresh the 85,000 tables and 125,000 indexes (3rd party COTS app) of our Student Information System Dev database from Prod every Sunday via exp/imp. The exp files are about 25GB. Over time the refresh has been from Win2k to HP-UX, from HP-UX to Linux, and now from 64bit Linux to 32bit Linux. All DBs are 9.2.0.4. The cross-OS compatibility of exp/imp is wonderful.

Unfortunately there are rougly 1000 tables (in multiple schemas).

Do you know if I can use exp from HP-UX and imp from Sun? (or must I do both
using the same OS)?

Thanks.
